After nearly three decades as a Labor & Delivery nurse, Mel followed a long-held creative passion into floral design and flower farming. What began with flowers grown on her Ludington property has grown into MelsFarm&Decor - a floral design studio creating romantic, garden-inspired flowers for weddings and celebrations throughout West Michigan.

With formal training in floral design, continued education through workshops and years of hands-on experience, Mel approaches each wedding personally - from the first conversations and floral planning to the bouquets, centerpieces and large-scale installations that bring the day to life.

Many of the flowers and textural ingredients used in her designs are grown right on the farm, supplemented with carefully sourced specialty blooms when the season or design calls for them. The result is floral work that feels abundant, natural and individual to each couple rather than pulled from a formula.
